(New) Paint Brush Holder and Easel $10.99 Utrecht Art

This brush holder is perfect for a busy traveling girl. This brush holder is great for a freelance make up artist for your kit. If your not an artist this holder can work perfect to organized your brushes in your bathroom or vanity. You can even put lip pencils, eye liner, and mascara in this brush holder. This DIY will always keep you organized.

Use candle holders to store lip gloss.

Try a Glass jar from the Dollar Tree and add clear beads from Michael's to store makeup.

Instead of throwing your old Perfume box out save it and cut the top off. Use your perfume box as a cute holder for your vanity.

Beauty Talk: Makeup Expiration

source: makeup.com

Makeup has an Expiration just like the food we eat. I never know exactly when to throw out milk or bread until I smell a funk. After working in the beauty industry for over a year I have seen people get infections from old mascara and even breakout from old foundation because it has bacteria that multiplied over the years. I know it sucks buying a $10-25 mascara every 3 months but opt into purchasing travel size mascaras (Benefit makes a great one).
Mascara - 3 months
Liquid Liners- 6 months
Foundations- 6-12 months
Lipgloss- 1 year
Concealer- 1 year
Nail Polish 2 years
Lipstick- 2 years
Powders- 2 years
Eyeshadow/Blush/Bronzer- 2 years

DIY: Makeup Brush Holder with Face Charts

I discovered mamma_divan on Instagram and I fell in love with a photo of her vanity. She had her brushes in the cutest holder pen and pencil holder. She let me know that she purchased her brush holders from TJ Maxx. I immediately stopped by my local TJ Maxx and luckily I found the exact same holders (there was two but one was scratched up). So I picked up just one I was so excited Thanks Mamma_Diva !! :)

Follw her Instagram Mamma_Diva
White Pen and Pencil Holder from TJ Maxx was $5.99.

I went to my local Home Goods and found a desk organizer in a black spinning pencil holder for $6.99. I like this holder because it spins and each side had a panel I could add a face chart or graphic.

I traced the dimension of the panel of the holder.
Next I used some face charts from work (Sephora).
I also found face charts on MAC Cosmetics website and Sephora.com.
Finally I cut the shape out of the Face Chart and taped it to the holder. I used double sided tape because I plan to change them often and using glue makes it more permanent.

\

I really love these brush holders. I was tired of my brushes in a glass jar with beads. I think it is time for a vanity table. My makeup has taken over. My poor bathroom counter :(

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day My Clothes Minded peeps!

So I got a new look :) rocking braids for a month or so. So I decided to rummage thru my makeup and look for a great red or pink Valentines day lipstick.
Im wearing Ronnie Red (from Veronica Collection) by Mac Cosmetics Archie Collection. Its a Matte Red Lip. I figured everybody would be rocking ruby woo so I switched it up a little. I was torn between which roller ball to throw in my bag today Versace Bright Crystal vs. Armani Acqau Di Gio and Versace won!
Check Out my favorite pinks and reds....

Top Row MAC Ronnie Red, MAC Daddy's Little Girl, Makeup Forever Moulin Rouge
Middle Row (all) OCC Lip Tars: Strumpet, Nylon, NSFW
Last Row Sephora Rouge Shine N41, Kat Von D Adora, Mac Ruby Woo

December Haul / My Christmas Gift

After all the Christmas Shopping I squeezed a little shopping in for myself.

Mac Seductive Intent Semi- Matte Lipstick- This is a beautiful fushia purple with a great finish that isn't too gloss nor is it super dry matte finish.

Mac Passionately Tempted Blush- Nice purple/fushia blush with not much shimmer

Ben Nye Banana Powder- EVERYBODY swears by this setting powder. I tried it and i will say that after setting my concealer with this powder it didn't crease or look cakeY. Everyone was right!

Mac Currant Lip Pencil- Dark vampy berry pencil. This pencil paired with MACs Rebel and Ruby Woo looks soooo good. It can create an Ombre-ish lip.

Naked Basics- I didn't swatch this because i feel that this product is a love/hate buy/dont buy type of product. Obviously Foxy and WOS are too light and ashy for deep skin tones like myself. I really like this palette because Crave was a nice deep dark brown black. I kind of got mad at myself a few days after getting this because i should of purchased the Lorac Pro Palette or Smashbox Master Class Palette.

What did you buy for yourself????

(All of the products featured in this post has been purchased by me)

December Haute Holiday Glam Bag
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner (Zero)- This liner is glides on really smooth and great color payoff.
Urban Decay Naked Skin BB- Really Smooth light weight BB Cream Has a slight tint of color to it.
Mai Couture Highlighting papers- ughh i could live without these papers
Mirabella Face or Eye Primer- I have yet to try this product yet.
Be a Bombshell Lip Gloss(Hot Mess)- This looks better over a lipstick in my opinion.

I was suppose to get a NYX Loose pearl shadow I contacted Ipsy and now waiting to see if any action takes place.

Ipsy November Glam Bag Review

A little late with this post but here I go... I blogged last month about my October Ipsy Bag well this November Party Perfect Bag was much better than last month.

Inside the bag included:
Meet Matte Eye Shadow
Starlet Black Eyeliner
Bare Minerals Dare Devil Gloss
Chella Defining Brow Gel
Nailtini Nail Lacquer

I really loved the November bag because getting more matte eyeshadows are on my To-Do list. The Bare Minerals Gloss is great has a hint of color and not super sticky looks great paired on top of a lipstick. The eyeliner and Brow Gel are alright nothing to jump over and do a back flip about. I am so in love with the October bag Bombshell felt tip liquid eyeliner! If you have not already signed up for a Ipsy bag do it now! $10 a month cant beat.

The Makeup Show Orlando 2012

Sunday I attended The Makeup Show Orlando. The show was filled with many makeup artist and beauty professionals (and some none of the above). I have read many blogs and watched many Youtube videos about Makeup Shows in NY and LA so to hear the show was coming to the South East region I was excited.

I went to the show with my coworker. We arrived to the show and started to browse by each vendors booth. The Makeup Forever and Crown Brush Booth was PACKED the entire day. We also made it to a keynote by Johnny Lavoy The Transformation of Makeup.
Overall my advice to a Makeup Show Virgin i would say
-Have a budget
-Make a list of all the items you really need/want from the show
-Sign Up for PRO discounts with the many vendors
-Get some knowledge from Keynotes and Seminars
- Have FUN :)

Check out my photos below (excuse my iPhone photography silly me I left my camera in the car).
